Enchanted Rock

Living in Houston, Austin is hilly for me. Walking outdoor is quite an exciting activity for us whose residence is in urban. This time, we went to Enchanted Rock State Park, 90-mile northwest from Austin. Enchanted Rock is enormous rocks as big as a small mountain. The roads to the park was quiet so we were a bit surprised to see many climbers. Entrance fee was $6 per person.

The main (or bigger) rock was so huge that the people on top looked like ants. From the entrance, it was hard to guess how long it would take to climb but we just started walking. The weather was great, clear sky and moderate temperature.

It was steep at some point. But, do not worry. The surface was slip-free. Small children even walked well. So did dogs.

It took about 30 minutes to the top and then a great view and fresh air welcomed us. Enchanted Rock was totally worth visiting.
